KUUGE-HimmelBlume Uraufführung

eine Tanzperformance über Blumen und Leben
KUUGE-HimmelBlume

“Sight of the ultimate flower of life”
“Surprise to color, invited to smell, to admire the form, layering the magic of flowers”
-Yukio Nakagawa –

“Sich Kunst zu widmen heisst, sich den Leben zu widmen. Zu teilhabe hat ein jeder das Recht”
-Gerlinde Altenmüller-

A dance work Inspired by and dedicated to Ikebana Artist Yukio Nakagawa (1918-2012) and Thikwa's director Gerlinde Altenmüller (1947-2012).

Kuuge in Japanese means sky flowers or an offering of flowers, especially for a Buddhist ceremony or memorial. Nakagawa’s Ikebana is radically and powerfully deconstructive/reconstructive as sculpture with flowers and time.
In the flower we find each of us. For dance, dig a garden behind closed doors, then give water.
A moment of color, appearing incidental and inevitably building form,in a fraction of time in space, squeezes the blood and heart beat, to rebuild the body.
To celebrate, dedicate a moment of life.
To whom do we dedicate flowers and when they bloom, how do you name them?
What you see reflects you.
